In this episode, we learn about the Mid Autumn Festival and one of the most enduring folktales associated with it: the legend of the Moon Goddess, Chang Er.

Chang Er has a soft spot in my heart, and in my mind, her love story with Hou Yi is one of the most touching and bittersweet one.
Imagine my horror when I found out that in one version, Hou Yi was actually a tyrant! And Chang Er took the potion to stop him from becoming all-powerful – thus saving the world.
But now that I wrote that, I think it actually has quite a nice spin to it, and might even have potential for Hou Yi to have a redemptive arc… OOH! Can you smell a retelling coming?!?!
